A line survey is an ecological survey which is carried out in a line. This is the kind of survey used for species such as small mammals and birds.
So, for example for a small mammal line survey, every 10 metres along the line, data is collected. This data is then put into a spread sheet and findings can be assimilated to determine likely presence of small mammals for a particular area.
